Ashley Rivera is of Cuban descent, but was born and raised in Miami. She grew up with a variety of animals in her households ranging from cats to iguanas. Having so many species crawling around at home led her to want to pursue veterinary medicine. Ashley has been working in and out of the veterinary field for ten years now. She is currently attending Florida Int'l University finalizing a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and when she completes that degree she will work hard to pursue her dream of attending veterinary school. Ashley has seven cats and one chihuahua. When she is not caring for all of her critters, she is spending time with family, painting, drawing and traveling.
Ashley Garcia has always had a place in her heart dedicated to the care of animals. She worked at both a 24 hour emergency care clinic as well as a private practice over the past two years. Ashley joined the Dixie Animal Hospital team in June of 2017. Upon graduating high school, Ashley completed veterinary assisting courses to become a certified veterinary assistant. She has two cats;, Missy and Hailey as well as three dogs; Chuchi, Mimi and the aptly named Dixie. Aside from her love for animal well-being, Ashley is geared towards helping others. She is a nationally certified firefighter and is currently attending EMT school with hopes of becoming a Miami-Dade Firefighter. When she isn't working at Dixie or studying for EMT school, Ashley can be found snorkeling, traveling, working on her physical fitness or doing yoga.

Ten plus years ago we acquired "Chevy", a lab mix, from the Broward Shelter. He is the spark in our lives! Today he was seen at Dixie and everyone of the staff greeted him and called him by name. What a wonderful feeling in addition to the great medical care he gets. Honestly, you can't do better."
